Melanie B. is a self-taught metalsmith and creator of Bead and Bones handmade jewelry. She challenges both the traditional secretive artist stereotype with her willingness to share knowledge, and the way silversmithing is learned. After struggling to find high-quality and reliable resources to teach herself metalsmithing, Melanie first began recording short videos to share her favorite tips on Instagram. It has since grown into an entire online community where jewelry designers of all levels can ask questions, learn, and grow.

Melanie started her career as a historical jewelry expert and has spent her entire life as a professional artist. She attended art school and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design, Printmaking, and Art History. Melanie became a full-time jewelry designer in 2016 and has spent the last three years learning the fundamentals of silversmithing. She has since become an expert in sterling silver, brass, etching, and numerous other techniques.
